Barbara Thomason enjoyed a satisfying career in community and economic development before deciding to take up the pen. She found a supportive writing community with the Writer’s League of Texas and other authors in the area. While writing and reading children’s literature, she discovered that contemporary fiction could be healing and enlightening, particularly if young people could openly discuss it. From this notion, she created a life mastery skills program and named it Joy Circles^®.
